A 2am start paid off to get to Malham Tarn for 3:30am. The lake was dead calm and looked like a sheet of glass in the star light. I was hoping to get capture the galactic centre however there was a bit of light pollution from Greater Manchester on the southern horizon.
Heading back to Leeds over Malham Moor we caught this evocative misty scene.
We pulled over at the King’s Head Hotel on Rannoch Moor and met a rather friendly (and hungry) deer!
